This client requested as much solar power as possible. We ended up installing 640W of solar power within the limited space available on their roof. We also installed a Trik-L-Start charger which takes power from their solar charged house batteries and transfers it to the starter battery. The Trik-L-Start charger is particularly useful when the vehicle is parked for extended periods of time. You won’t have to worry about your starter battery dying, and it helps maximize the life of the battery.

These clients came to us with an existing solar system that they wanted to expand. We were able to utilize a lot of their existing system by doing series/parallel connections on their roof, saving them some money on parts and labor. They also requested a larger battery bank. Their existing battery bay wasn’t large enough to accommodate the four additional AGM batteries we installed, so we put half of them inside the existing bay, and the other half in their coach underneath their dining room bench. The additional 300W of solar power, and the added battery capacity will allow them to dry camp for a longer period of time.

This client brought us an RV that was pre-wired for solar with 6-gauge cable, and a 2000W Magnum inverter. They also provided a Yakama rack that they asked us to install the solar panels on. We moved the batteries and inverter to a location better suited to maximize the efficiency of the system without compromising storage space. We installed two SF100W solar panels onto their Yakama rack using AM Solar rocker mounts along with customer provided Yakama SnapAround Roof Rack Mounting Brackets. The result is a one-of-a-kind solar installation job customized exactly how they requested, and designed to fit their specific needs.

This client wanted an upgraded battery bank with a monitor, inverter and a solar charging system. We installed a Magnum 1000W inverter/charger, 300Ah of AGM batteries and 320W of solar panels. The Victron charge controller and battery monitor use Bluetooth to communicate system status to a smart phone. This should cover fans, lights, entertainment center and a small refrigerator.

This client was tired of worrying about his batteries running low while using a CPAP machine. He also wanted to run a small refrigerator and power a laptop. He ended up with a roof covered in solar panels (460W), a 300Ah AGM battery bank and a silent Suresine 300W inverter.

This client was looking for a solar charger to keep their flooded batteries topped off and run small appliances. We installed our Complete Charger Deluxe kit using two SP100 solar panel kits to give them about 50Ah of energy per day.

We have never heard a customer say “I got too much solar,” and this customer will never be able to say “I should have gotten more solar,” because the roof is completely covered. In addition to the 830W solar charging system, a 600Ah lithium battery bank and a 3000VA hybrid inverter make this a very powerful vehicle.

This was just a standard solar charger installation. The customer now has 320W of solar going through an MPPT charge controller. Also, while working on the rig we noticed that the customer’s flooded batteries were badly sulfated. We are currently running them through an equalization to restore some of their life. In a year or so, this customer may be back for an AGM upgrade. Flooded batteries require a lot of maintenance.

Space constraints were a major issue with this rig. We had to reinforce the bay and temporarily remove the bay door to get everything to fit. In the end we managed to install two Victron lithium 200Ah batteries in our Signature lithium system feature complete cold weather charging disconnect systems. The inverter is a Victron hybrid 3000VA and there is 1120W of solar panels on the roof.

When air conditioning is important, you better go big with your battery capacity. This customer got an 800Ah Victron Signature lithium system will full cold weather charging disconnects. The Victron 3000VA inverter/charger can draw from shore power or a generator at the same time as it draws from the battery bank to power large loads like air conditioners.
