Every solar kit is different, but essentially a solar panel kit is a solar panel with the tools you need to assemble and run an energy system. BEFORE YOU BUY: Know that a solar panel alone will not give you usable solar power for your RV or trailer. You will need mounts, cables, a combiner box, a charge controller, fuses/breakers, lugs, batteries, and sometimes an inverter system. A charge controller, batteries, and an inverter are essential to creating solar energy.
A solar power kit can help you create an off-grid solar system. They are ideal to power an off-grid RV, RV appliances, or small electronics. Also, most trailer and RV installations require several solar panels. For example, to offset a residential refrigerator we recommend a minimum of three solar panels.
