We normally try to avoid routing cable through vents, but sometimes it makes sense.
Here are the pros and cons:
Pros:
· No roof penetration
· May present the shortest route for optimal system design/performance
Cons:
· Roof Box installation not designed for Vent creating PV wire exposure on the roof
· Exposure to the elements including heat from the burner
· Challenging to effectively secure the PV wire route that passes through the vent
· May present a longer route than is ideal for optimal system performance
· Aesthetically displeasing
