This customer came to us with some factory work that they wanted to have upgraded. They had a single panel and a Magnum MS2812 with an ME-MR. We upgraded them to an ME-RC50 remote meter and added another 640W solar charging system. Now they have much more control over their system and won’t have to worry about plugging into shore power as often.

This customer came to us with a variety of electrical issues, the most troublesome being that their inverter/charger wasn’t working correctly. We upgraded their 1000W inverter to a 2000W pure sine model and replaced some burnt relays. We also installed a 320W solar charging system. Camping will be much more comfortable now.

This customer wanted a simple, low cost, system for maintaining their batteries when their vehicle is not in use. To accomplish this we installed a 160W panel to maintain the house battery and a Trik-L-Start to send current from the house battery to the starter battery. With this, the batteries will remain healthy when the vehicle is not in use for extended periods of time. If the customers decide they want more power for camping off-grid, we can expand the system.

We installed 1,120W of solar through a Victron charge controller on this Class A motorhome. Routing solar cables through vehicles like this can be especially challenging but we were lucky to find a path through a bathroom cabinet. Special care had to be taken with the cables and shunt to preserve the functionality of the sliding battery rack.

This is the most sophisticated AM Solar installation ever. The 1920W solar array was producing over 90A when the system was first activated (in overcast weather). That high current, coming from dual 70A charge controllers, was fed onto a Victron 800Ah lithium battery bank where a 3000VA hybrid inverter would power all the comforts of home to this power plant on wheels.

For the ambitious do-it-yourselfers out there who are overwhelmed by doing a full solar installation, consider having AM Solar do a partial install. In this case, we’ve secured the panels and routed the solar cables. The owner intends to tackle the remainder of the project, which will include a Victron charge controller and lithium battery system. This saves the customer time and money, while giving them a head start on their solar project and control over the installation process.
